Update: POLICE CLOSE DENFIELD ROAD FOR COLLISION INVESTIGATION – Driver Charged

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Middlesex County Ontario Police (OPP) has charged a driver following an investigation into a motor vehicle collision on Denfield Road.

On December 16, 2013 at approximately 9:15 a.m. Middlesex County OPP responded to a collision at the intersection of Denfield Road and Twelve Mile Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre. A car travelling westbound on Twelve Mile Road collided with a passenger van travelling southbound on Denfield Road.

The single occupant of the car, an elderly male was transported to hospital by Middlesex London Emergency Services (EMS) with non-life threatening injuries. The two occupants of the other vehicle were treated and released from the scene. Denfield Road was closed for approximately five hours as the OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Team (TTCI) conducted their investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Garnet BLOOMFIELD, age 84 of Middlesex Centre Township has been issued a Provincial Offences Notice for the Highway Traffic Act offence of failing to stop at stop sign.
