(LAKESHORE, ON) -Members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Lakeshore home on the morning of December 13, 2013 to a report of a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim with life-threatening stab wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and remains in critical condition.
Members of the Essex County OPP located and arrested the suspect at the residence without incident.
The investigation, led by Detective Staff Sergeant (first name) Stewart of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has identified another victim (female) who was also assaulted by the suspect during a separate incident on December 12, 2013.
Doneka SYCHANTHA, 29-year-old male, from Lakeshore Ontario. He has been charged with:
Attempt Murder,
Aggravated Assault,
Assault With a Weapon and;
Assault.
He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on December 17, 2013 to answer to the charges.
