(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a single motor vehicle collision.
On December 19, 2013 at approximately 4:15 p.m. the OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Grandy Road in Coboconk. Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle crossed the centre line and struck a hydro pole before coming to rest in the parking lot of the medical centre.
The driver and lone occupant, Phyllis RICHARDSON, 89 years of age, of Coboconk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Technical Collision Investigation unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation. The road was closed for several hours, reopening at 7:30 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
