(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Auxiliary officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with the Salvation Army recently held their annual food and toy drive at local stores in Collingwood.
The drive took take place on Sunday December 15th where OPP Auxiliary officers were at the Loblaw, Metro, Sobeys and Wal-Mart stores in Collingwood from 11:00am to 6:00pm. This is a yearly event organized by the Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP Auxiliary officers benifiting the local Salvation Army and has always been a great opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer.
The results were outstanding as the drive yielded 3,000 lbs of food (13 police cars full), 250 toys and over $2,200 in cash donations. The OPP Auxiliary officers and Salvation Army would like to thank all those that donated for this event and will go a long way in helping keep the food bank well stocked and help brighten many people’s holiday season.
