ARRESTS IN THEFT FROM CARS

(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two males early this morning for theft from cars in the Town of Collingwood.

Shortly before 4:00am this morning, the 20th of December 2013, officers were dispatched to a residence on Walnut Street in Collingwood where the resident reported that his car had been entered however nothing had been stolen. While officers were at scene, they observed foot prints in the snow leading to numerous other properties on Walnut Street and Second Street area. Shortly thereafter officers located two males on foot and police investigation of these males lead to their arrests. They were transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.

Charged are: 24 year-old Devin CAMPBELL and 22 year-old Justin CLEMENTS, both of Collingwood. They both face charges of trespassing at night, theft under $5000 from motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. They are to appear in Collingwood court on the 28th of January 2014.
