(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 19, 2013 at approximately 8:35 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Festive R.I.D.E. Team were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington County Road 30 near Wellington County Road 39, Guelph-Eramosa Township. Officers investigated the male driver of a 1997 Dodge and he showed signs of alcohol consumption. A breath demand was requested and he refused to provide a sample in to an approved Roadside Screening Device.
The Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
S-Jeffrey McLEAN aged 54 of Guelph has been charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 24, 2014 to answer to the charge.
