(BANCROFT, ON) – One male is in custody facing charges and two officers were uninjured after being shot at while responding to an assault complaint at approximately 9am Monday morning.
The officers were responding to a call that a male was assaulted with a weapon in Purdy, Hastings Highlands. Upon arrival the officers were shot at and took cover. The suspect then approached the officers with a knife and was subdued with a conducted energy weapon (CEW) with no injuries to him or the officers. The victim of the original assault was transported by paramedics to Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital with serious injuries. A 32-year-old male from Purdy is in custody facing charges.
