(Selwyn Township, ON) – On Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at approximately 8:19 p.m. officers from the Peterborough County OPP Detachment were called to a Lakefield Road residence in response to a domestic incident.
Upon arriving officers were advised that during a family get together, 18 year old Nicholas McILWAIN of Selwyn, and a 45 year old Cavan Monaghan Township resident had been involved in a verbal argument that had accelerated into a physical confrontation. The 18 year old male had then assaulted the 45year old male, and then fled the residence.
As a result of the investigation the 18 year old Nicholas McILWAIN was located a short time later and was arrested and charged with assault.
The McILWAIN was released from custody with a future court date scheduled for February 14, 2014 in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
