(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On December 25, 2013 at approximately 2:30pm Quinte West OPP responded to a Scott Ave address in Frankford for a call regarding animal cruelty.
When police arrived on scene they were met by a male and a female party that appeared to be intoxicated. After a short investigation police located a cat that appeared to have fresh blood on it from serious injuries.
As a results of the investigation 52 year old Wayne WINTER of Tweed and a 44 year Brenda LAIRD of Frankford have been charged with Cruelty to Animals. They have both been released with courts dates in February of 2014.
The cat had to be put down as a result of the injuries.
