Barrie Police were contacted by a 28 year old female who advised that since 2011, she has been continually assaulted by her 26 year old husband.
The assaults consisted of punches, kicks and hair pulling.
A final assault occurred on December 20th when the victim alleged the suspect had punched her over 100 times leaving numerous bruises.
The victim feared for her life and fled to her parents home in Buffalo NY and contacted Barrie Police.
While in Buffalo, the suspect texted her over 200 times, demanding she return to Barrie and promising dire consequences if she failed to do so.
After a full interview with Barrie Police, the suspect was arrested at his work and transported to the Barrie Police Service and held for a Bail Hearing.
He was charged with 3 counts of assault, 3 counts of uttering threats and 1 count of criminal harrassment.
The victim recieved minor medical treatment for her injuries.
