(Selwyn Township, ON) – On Tuesday, January 1, at approximately 12 a.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of a domestic dispute that occurred at a Highland Road residence.
Attending officers were advised that a couple had been celebrating the New Year and an argument had begun between the two. The argument became heated and as a result a 47 year old female resident was assaulted by a 53 year old male resident.
As a result a 53 year old male has been charged with Assault. He was released from custody with a future court appearance scheduled for February 13 2014 to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
The identities of the parties involved are being withheld due to the nature of the offence.
