(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 3, 2014, just before 1:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a Buick vehicle on Highway 401 eastbound near Communication Road.
Subsequent investigation at roadside led to the seizure of several bags containing a total of approximately 99 grams of suspected marihuana with an estimated value of $990, along with approximately 289 suspected marihuana plants. The value of the marijuana plants is estimated at $300,000.
Two males from Brampton, 43 year old Robert SPROATS and 52 year old Shawn POWER, have been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Both males are scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on Thursday, February 13, 2014, to answer to the charges.
