KITCHENER MAN REFUSED TO PROVIDE BREATH SAMPLE

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) -On January 11, 2014 at approximately 1:18 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Festive R.I.D.E. team had a R.I.D.E. Program on Highway 7 and Woolwich-Guelph Townline, Guelph-Eramosa Township. A male driver of a 2004 Honda showed signs of alcohol consumption. The officer made a demand to the driver to provide a breath sample into an approved roadside screening device and he refused.

The Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Abdisalam AHMED age 30 of Kitchener has been charged with Refuse to Provide Sample of Breath, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 11, 2014 to answer to the charge.
