(NORTH HURON, ON) – A male driver was arrested early this morning after he failed to stop for police.
Just before 7:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle driving around a farm supply business located in Londesborough. Officers located the suspect vehicle just north of Londesborough and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop for police and proceeded to travel northbound through Blyth on London Road.
Between Moncrieff Road and St. Michael’s Road the fleeing suspect attempted to pass a Honda CRV that had pulled over for the police vehicles. The suspect vehicle collided with the rear of the Honda sending the suspect vehicle off the roadway into a snowbank in the east ditch.
The suspect immediately exited his vehicle and tried to escape on foot. After a short foot chase officers were able to arrest the fleeing suspect.
The female driver of the Honda was transported to hospital with minor injuries. She has since been released from hospital.
The fleeing male driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries. He is currently in police custody with charges to follow. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
