(COCHRANE, ON) -On January 7, 2014, shortly after 9:00 pm, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from the Cochrane detachment intercepted a stolen red Ford Focus passenger vehicle traveling westbound on highway 11 in the town Cochrane, Ontario.
Police investigation revealed that the accused male and stolen vehicle were traveling back from the province of Quebec and heading to the Departure Lake area prior to the traffic stop.
As a result of the investigation, 38 year old male, Yves ROCHELEAU of Departure Lake, Ontario, has been charged with one count of Theft Under $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused male has since been release from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane on February 4, 2014.
