CONSUMING ALCOHOL IN ICE HUTS

(DRYDEN, ON.) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Dryden detachment would like to remind the public that it is illegal to consume alcohol in an ice hut. Members of the public who are found to be in contravention of liquor licence act could be faced with a fine. Consuming alcohol in an ice hut is in violation of Regulation 31(2) of the Liquor License Act. The only exemption is if the ice hut contains legitimate sleeping and cooking facilities (i.e. those found in on-ice bungalows).
