MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On January 13, 2014 at approximately 3:20 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a collision involving three motor vehicles on Highway 6 at Paisley Road in the City of Guelph.

Investigation revealed that a south bound Jeep rear-ended a pick-up truck that stopped suddenly in front of it and the pick-up truck then struck a third vehicle that was also stopped. Upon speaking with the driver of the Jeep, police detected a strong odour of marihuana coming off of him. The driver surrendered a small quantity of marihuana to the officer.

Clinton SINE aged 21 of Puslinch Township has been charged with Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on March 7, 2014 to answer to the charges.
