(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Thursday, January 16 2014 at approximately 11:45 am, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle and pedestrian collision that occurred on Highway 61 near Riverdale Road.
The driver of a Toyota Corolla was north bound on Highway 61 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and subsequently struck a 71 year old male that was snow blowing to clear snow in the area of his mailbox.
The male was transported to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and the vehicle sustained extensive damage.
The investigation is continuing.
