(WALKERTON, ON) – On January 18, 2014 at 3:50 pm, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Prince Street in Walkerton noticed the driver of a Green Jeep Cherokee wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle was stopped and a 51 year old Brockton man received a traffic ticket for Fail to wear seatbelt. The penalty for Fail to wear seatbelt is $240 and 2 demerit points, but the consequences are much worse if you become involved in a crash with no safety restraint.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
