Arrest

On Wednesday night a member of the Barrie Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Dunlop St. in the downtown area. During this traffic stop the driver was unable to produce some of the required documentation. When the officer returned to his cruiser, the male driver fled the scene on foot. Officers checked the area and were able to locate the male on Mary St. Further investigation revealed that the male was on bail bound to several conditions including a curfew. He was then arrested and taken to the police station. At the station the male was found to be in possession of a small amout of marihuana and a counterfeit $100.00 bill. The 32 year old Barrie resident is now in custody facing five counts of fail to comply recognizance, possesion of a controlled substance and possession of counterfeit currency.
