(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On February 2nd, 2014 at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Tiny Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a “911†call for service advising that an operator of a snow vehicle (snowmobile) had been ejected from his sled and was laying on the ice just off shore in the Michaud Point area.
An OPP investigation with the assistance of our OPP Snowmobile, ATV and Vessel Enforcement (S.A.V.E.) Unit and our Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (T.T.C.I.) Unit revealed that a snowmobile operator while operating his snow vehicle on a section of ice off shore and struck a large rock ejecting him from his vehicle.
As a result of this collision the above snowmobile operator a 56 year old male from Tiny Twp. has been airlifted to Sunnybrook Health Science Center Hospital in Toronto with very serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation into this serious snow vehicle collision is ongoing.
