Guelph Police would like to remind parents for their children’s safety

Snow banks are not a safe place to play, do not build snow forts or make tunnels. They can collapse and suffocate a child.

Children should not play outside alone. Establish a buddy system with one or more friends and have them look out for one another.

Stay away from snowploughs and snow blowers. Choose play areas away from roads, fences and water.

Take extra caution when crossing roads. It might be hard for drivers to see children if they have frosty windows or due to the large snow banks on our roadways.

If possible, try to reduce the size of snow banks on the ends of driveways.
