(ST.CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a serious collision that occurred on February 1, 2014 at around 6:00 p.m. on Lambton Line just east of Highway 40.
For reasons unknown at this time, a Chrysler travelling east on Lambton Line collided with a Kia that was travelling west on Lambton Line. All occupants of the vehicles were transported to hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
The driver of the Chrysler, 52 year old Larry VANRUYMBEKE of Wallaceburg remains in hospital where he is being treated for critical injuries.
The driver of the Kia, 75 year old Jean Paul MONTMINY and a passenger, 60 year old Jim STEVENS were both treated for serious injuries and released from the hospital. Two other passengers in the Kia, 63 year old Edna MITCHELL and 63 year old James MITCHELL, remain in hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries. All four occupants in the Kia were from Corunna.
The West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team continues to investigate the collision and further information will be releases once it becomes available.
