NURSING HOME EMPLOYEE CHARGED WITH THEFT – Melissa KAUFMAN

(TAVISTOCK, ON.) – Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Unit has made an arrest in relation to an investigation involving an employee at an area nursing home.

Near the end of January 2014, OPP were contacted regarding missing narcotics from the Maples Home for Seniors in Tavistock. As a result of the investigation a female Registered Nurse, 26 year old Melissa KAUFMAN of Tavistock is being charged with the following offences:

Theft Under $5000 – Criminal Code of Canada
Falsification of documents – Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) – Controlled Drug And Substances Act

The female is being held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on February 7, 2014.
