Around noon on the 11th of February 2014 on Highway 8 near the King St E exit, an officer from the Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Branch noticed a tractor trailer with no license plates. Upon further investigation it was discovered that driver was using a yellow Ontario service plate to transport the truck to Manitoba. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. An approved roadside screening device was used and the driver’s license was subsequently suspended for 3 days. Police learned that the driver had been consuming alcohol late the night before and remind all drivers to ensure enough time has passed to ensure they are sober before driving again.
