STOLEN VEHICLE USED IN BREAK-IN AT FOODLAND – ATM BREACHED

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Thursday, February 13, 2014 at approximately 5:56 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in at the Foodland grocery store located on Hwy. 6 & 21 (Sunset Strip) in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. An ATM machine located inside the store’s vestibule was breached just before 4:00 a.m., and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

The Grey County OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit (Mount Forest) were called to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.

Police have identified the vehicle used by the culprit(s) in this incident – a black, 2004 GMC Sierra pick-up truck bearing Ontario licence plate 195 2MM. The vehicle had chrome centre hubs, chrome running boards, a trailer hitch and a clear snow plow mounted to the front of the truck. The pick-up truck, which was reported stolen from J.P. Commercial Contractors in Owen Sound later that day, matched the description of the suspect vehicle captured in a surveillance video. The vehicle is still outstanding.

Police are asking anyone with information which may assist in this investigation to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
