(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 167 calls for service from Friday June 22, 2018 to Monday June 25, 2018.
CHARGES LAID RELATNG TO BREAK IN
(NORTH GLENGARRY,ON) On June 21, 2018, members of the Community Street Crime Unit and SD&G OPP officers concluded an investigation into a break and enter and theft from vehicles in North Glengarry Township. This resulted in the recovery of a quantity stolen goods. The accused male was also in possession of suspected Marihuana and methamphetamine (pills).
Eric SEGUIN (27) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance ( 2 counts)
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (6 counts)
– Break and enter (2 counts)
– Theft under from motor vehicle ( 4 counts)
– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (2 counts)
He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
RESIST ARREST AND ASSAULT POLICE
(SOUTH STORMONT,ON) – On June 24, 2018 at approximately 2:07 am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Power Dam drive, South Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol. The male then became combative with the officer resisting arrest and assaulting the officer.
Joel DUVAL (37) of South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault a Peace officer
– Resist peace officer
– Provincial Three Day Suspension
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 17, 2018.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(SD&G) – On June 24-25, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– June 24, 2018 – 1:10am (South Stormont); vehicle stopped traveling 151km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (45) from North Lauderdale, USA was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).-
– June 25, 2018 – 6:30am (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped traveling 161km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Female driver (24) from Lasalle, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
