(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) -Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed Highway 59 South between Patullo Avenue and Greenly Line after responding to a single vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 6:00 pm today.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and is now deceased. The identification of the deceased will not be released until next of kin notification has been made. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
OPP, Oxford Centre fire department and Oxford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) all responded to assist at this location.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) is at the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway #59 will remain closed for the investigation.
A Detour Route is in place.
