DAYTIME BREAK AND ENTER ZORRA TOWNSHIP RESIDENCE

(ZORRA TOWNSHIP ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a daytime break-in and theft that occurred on the 31st Line between Road 96 and Perth Oxford Road in Zorra Township between 7:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on February 14, 2014.

Entry was gained to the residence by kicking in the side door. Once in the residence, the thieves ransacked the home and stole a variety of electronics, a collection of silverware and a large quantity of jewellery items. The approximate value of the items taken exceeds $30,000.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. a suspicious vehicle was observed at a neighbouring residence on the 31st Line and confronted.

The vehicle was described as:

Silver Dodge quad cab, 4×4 pickup truck
Windows having very dark tint
License plate appeared to be purposely obstructed

There were two male occupants observed in the vehicle and the following descriptors were provided:

Driver was described as:

Black hair, clean cut
Thick black eye brows
Olive coloured skin
Approximate age of late 20’s or early 30’s

Passenger was described as:

Dark hair

The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant for suspicious vehicles travelling up and down roads or sitting in neighbour’s driveway when they are not home. The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
