(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the War Amps, a leader in the field of child safety, are bringing an important safety message to students at seven local schools on February 20th and 21st, 2014.
Kelly Campbell and Tiffany McCormick, both Graduates of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program, will give one-hour long presentations to children in grades two to five. Kelly, born a right arm amputee, and Tiffany, born a partial right hand amputee, are well-qualified to pass on the PLAYSAFE message. As members of CHAMP, they met many children who have lost limbs in accidents, and now work at getting the message of “playing safely†across to as many children as possible. Through this blitz, they will reach more than 800 area students in two days.
Any media wishing to attend should contact Constable Jim Edwards of the Orillia OPP for a schedule of the presentations.
