(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – A weekend traffic complaint received by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the arrest of the driver for an alcohol related offence.
On June 24, 2018 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a traffic complaint related to a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Highway 7. An officer located the vehicle and initiated an investigation.
The driver, Daniel Petherick, 62 years of age, of Havelock, was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 26, 2018.
