(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Wednesday the 19th of February 2014, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a threatening incident that occurred in the Bancroft area. Investigation revealed that an adult male had verbally threatened and adult female. Further investigation into the incident revealed previous incidents involving the male.
A 36 year old male of Bancroft, Ontario has been arrested and charged with the following offences:
Threatening
Assault
Overcoming resistance by attempting to choke – 2 counts
Breach of probation – 4 counts
The male has been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on the 20th of February 2014.
The incident is a domestic investigation and the name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
