Brandon WEITZEL – Break and Enter, Theft Of Motor Vehicle, Stolen Property

(GODERICH, ON) – A male arrested last Thursday in Goderich on an outstanding warrant from London Police Service is now facing additional charges from Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Brandon WEITZEL was taken into custody on February 20, 2014 when he was arrested at a restaurant in Goderich. Further police investigation by the Huron County OPP Crime Unit has led to seven additional charges against him.

Police investigation revealed he had stolen a 1995 GMC Sierra pickup truck from a hospital parking lot in London sometime between February 14, 2014 and February 15, 2014. The stolen pickup was recovered on February 20, 2014 on Waterloo Street in the Town of Goderich.

Further investigation revealed he committed a break, enter and theft at an Orchard Line residence where he stole an engagement ring and an assortment of machinist tools. He was carrying the stolen items in a knapsack when he was arrested last Thursday.

In addition to the property related offences he has been charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.

22 year old Brandon WEITZEL, from London has been charged with:

Theft of Motor Vehicle contrary to section 333.1 Criminal Code

Break and Enter a Dwelling House contrary to section 348(1)(a) Criminal Code

Three Counts of Possession of Stolen Property contrary to section 354(1)(a) Criminal Code

Two Counts of Fail to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1)

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 25, 2014.
