(CAMPBELLFORD, ON) – Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a report from Sunday February 23, 2014 of a robbery at a local convenience store in downtown Campbellford, Ontario.
OPP members attended to the Mac’s Milk store on Bridge Street East shortly after 4:30 am on Sunday when the store clerk contact 911 to report that a lone male had entered the store and demanded cigarettes and cash. The clerk complied with the male’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cigarettes and currency.
Northumberland OPP detachment members were assisted by Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit (K9) as part of the initial investigation. The clerk was not injured and no weapon was seen.
The suspect was wearing white running shoes, black coat and pants and had a black balaclava and dark tinted sunglasses.
The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit members with assistance from OPP Peterborough Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) are continuing this investigation.
