Road Rage Incident

On the 20th of February 2014, the Barrie Police Traffic Unit commenced an investigation regarding a road rage incident that occurred on Kempenfelt Drive in the City of Barrie. The incident involved a motorist who was waiting behind a school bus which was in the process of loading children onto the bus. The motorist began honking and yelling at the bus driver to move. His actions caused one of the parents to confront the motorist, this resulted in a verbal dispute. The motorist then accelerated his vehicle and struck one of the parents with the vehicle. The motorist then fled the scene. Injuries were minor.On the 2nd of March 2014, the 56 year old motorist was charged with fail to remain and dangerous driving. He was released by way of a promise to appear.
