Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2014 – 11:00pm
On the 4th of March 2014 at approximately 11pm, Barrie Police were on routine patrol in the downtown area when a vehicle drove down Dunlop Street with no lights on nearly striking a police car on patrol. The officer followed the vehicle and stopped it a short distance away from the near collision.

As the officer approached the vehicle to speak with the driver regarding the infractions of no headlights and careless driving, it was quickly revealed that the female driver was impaired by alcohol. The female driver was arrested and transported to the station where she provided samples of her breath.

The 30 year old female driver from Barrie, was found to be more than three times the legal limit. She was subsequently processed and later released with a court date for the end of March
