The London Police Service is reaching out to the public again to encourage anyone with any information in relation to an investigation that is being treated as a hit & run, to contact police.
On Saturday, March 1, 2014 at approximately 2:20 a.m., emergency responders were called to Commissioners Road East just west of Western Counties Road in relation to a cyclist that was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle did not remain at the scene. It is possible that the driver believed a deer was struck as a number of collisions involving deer have occurred in this area.
It is believed that an older style silver SUV was involved and will have front end damage.
The 26-year-old male cyclist of London has been released from hospital but will have some ongoing medical treatments as a result of the collision.
It is our understanding that a female citizen was on scene prior to police arrival. We are requesting that she contract us with any information that she may have.
Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
