(ORO-MEDONTE, ON) – On Monday the 10th of February 2014 6:30 PM, a three year old German/Collie cross, named “Whiskeyâ€Â, was reported missing to the Barrie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police.
The dog owner returned to their Warminster Sd Rd home in Oro-Medonte Twp, finding fresh footprints in the snow and observed the leash was still there unbroken. The owner attended several Ontario SPCA and Humane Society locations with negative results.
Whiskey was later found on Hwy #6 just north of the 401by the Guelph Humane chapter, wearing the same leather collar but no tags. The dog was reunited with its family; however the incident remains under investigation. Workers from the Humane Society recommend leaving pets inside when unsupervised.
