PROACTIVE INITIATIVE/PROJECT

Incident #: WA14052217
Publish Date: Mar 10, 2014
Incident Date: Mar 9, 2014
Location: ACTIVA AVE and FISCHER-HALLMAN RD, KITCHENER ON Canada
On Sunday March 9, 2014, members of the WRPS and WRPS Auxiliary Unit conducted a door-to-door proactive enforcement project in the Activa Avenue area of Kitchener, to help remind residents to keep car doors locked and valuables out of sight. In this particular area there has been an increase in reports of theft from vehicles and break and enters since January. Police often see an increased number of thefts from vehicle reports during March break week and remind everyone to keep their vehicles locked and, ideally, parked inside their garages. Officers also urge anyone who is a victim of crime and has not reported to contact police. Reported crimes are important in the analysis of trends and patterns. Residents are urged to go www.wrps.on.ca for crime prevention information or to report a crime online.
