(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a structure fire on the 7th Line, south of Hwy. 26 in the Municipality of Meaford.
At approximately 4:01 p.m., a witness observed smoke emanating from a neighbour’s garage across the road on the 7th Line. Upon closer examination, he observed that a truck inside the garage was on fire. He quickly alerted his neighbour, who exited the residence with his infant daughter, just before the vehicle exploded; engulfing the garage.
The Meaford Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire which was not deemed to be suspicious. There were no injuries reported.
