MULTI-VEHICLE COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 402

(LAMBTON COUNTY, ON) – Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services and Sarnia firefighters all responded to the a multi-vehicle collision that took place just before 2:00 p.m. March 12, 2014. The collision occurred in the east bound lanes of the 402 highway just east of Airport road.

During the event, one OPP officer was struck while he was out of his OPP vehicle and that resulted in the officer being taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A driver of a vehicle that was also struck during the multi-vehicle collision, had to be freed by Sarnia firefighters from his vehicle after becoming trapped after impact. Lambton EMS transported the driver with non-life threatening injuries, to hospital.

At the time of this release, the east bound lanes of the 402 highway east of Airport road, remain closed with OPP still on scene.

The investigation is continuing.

Several other traffic incidents also kept OPP officers busy in Lambton County as officers dealt with vehicles that were stuck, had gone off the road, or were jack-knifed transport trucks.
