Police received a call from a concerned citizen over a Dunlop Street West business. The caller reported that bootlegged DVD’s were being sold.
When officers arrived, they found a store with blacked out windows and thousands of pirated movies for sale within. The owner of the shop was arrested and taken to the station for investigation. Over 2000 movies were seized.
The 38 year old Mississauga male was released on criminal charges of Fraud and selling copyrighted movies under the Copyright Act. He was also charged under the city by-law for operating a business without a business licence.
