Yesterday morning, an officer on general patrol was traveling eastbound on School Street in Chatham when he observed a Ford minivan in front of him. The officer queried the licence plates and learned that vehicle’s insurance status was not confirmed. The officer initiated a traffic stop to further investigate. The driver could not provide a permit or proof of insurance for the vehicle. The officer further learned that the driver was suspended due to unpaid fines.
The 45-year-old Chatham woman was charged with driving while under suspension, failing to surrender a permit for motor vehicle and failing to surrender an insurance card.
