On March 16, 2014 at approximately 2:26 a.m. an SUV drove into the Telus store at 565 King Street North in Waterloo. The driver of the SUV was getting out of the vehicle when he realized it was not in park and was rolling. As he jumped back in, he hit the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to crash through the store window and end up entirely inside the store. Nobody was injured in the collision but damage to the Telus store is extensive. Alcohol was not a factor.
