(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police was called to investigate a sexting incident that occurred within the County between February 1st and March 5th, 2014.
The allegations involved the possession and sharing of images via mobile devices, which contained nude photographs of a child under the age of 16 years old.
The 13 year old female victim and the two male youths were all acquainted with one another prior to the incidents occurring.
The male youths who are 13 and 14 years old, and reside in Oxford County, have been charged with the following offences contrary to The Criminal Code of Canada:
Possession of Child Pornography
Distribute Child Pornography
The 14 year old male youth charged also faces an additional charge of Breach of a Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The charged youths were both held for bail hearings.
The identity of the charged youths will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
