On March 21, 2014, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on an address on Bloomingdale Road in Kitchener. As a result of the search warrant, three adult males and one adult female, all of Kitchener were arrested and charged with numerous drug related offences. Police seized quantities of marihuana, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, heroin, and pills with a combined street value in excess of $150,000. Police also seized over $2000 in Canadian currency. All four of the arrested parties were held in police custody pending show cause hearings.
