INVESTIGATION CONTINUING STRUCTURE FIRE

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Sunday, March 23, 2014 at approximately 8:52 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a structure fire at a business known as Steve Jobin & Sons Truck & Auto Centre, formerly known as Grew Manufacturing, located on Sideroad 6 just west of Hwy. 6 & 10 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. The main building on the property was engulfed.

The Inter-Township Fire Department, with the assistance of the Owen Sound, Meaford, Chatsworth, Grey Highlands, Tara Arran, West Grey and South Bruce Fire Departments attended the scene. The property consists of several buildings, including a rental property which was occupied. There were no injuries reported.

Hwy. 6 & 10 from Grey Rd. 18 south to Grey Rd. 16 is expected to remain closed for several hours to facilitate the fire departments to load pumpers with water from a stream nearby.

The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office will be attending to assist in the investigation.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
