Sheldon MORRISON – Drunk Driving

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On March 23, 2014 officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an intoxicated male driver leaving a local drive through restaurant and proceeding east on Kings Highway in Fort Frances, ON.

At 2:22 am, OPP located the suspect vehicle at the 100 block of Third Street West and stopped the vehicle. The driver, Sheldon MORRISON, age 35 years of Wabigoon First Nation was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle after officers confirmed evidence of impairment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded. The driver was transported to Fort Frances Detachment and subsequently charged with Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood following the results of Breathalyzer tests.

An addition, the driver was charged with Driving While under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on April 28, 2014.

The OPP would like to thank the public for reporting this crime and therefore reducing the potential of a collision resulting in injury or death.
