(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON)-On Sunday March 23, 2014 at 8:52 p.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Denfield Road, Middlesex Centre. Police have learned that a lone male was operating an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Denfield Road when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled into a ditch. An off-duty OPP officer stopped to assist the driver and police soon discovered that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the local OPP detachment for further tests. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
As a result of an investigation police have charged Rhys EVANS, age 47 of Middlesex Centre with Care or Control While Impaired, Section 253(1)(a) and Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample, Section 254(5) of the Criminal Code (CC). The accused was released from police custody by-way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on May 6, 2014 to speak to the charges.
