(CALEDON, ON) – On March 24, 2014 shortly after 11 am, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement in the Village of Caledon. The officer observed a black Kia travelling northbound on Highway 10 at Charleston Side Road at a high rate of speed and determined that the driver was operating the vehicle at 112 km/hr. in a 60 km/hr. zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, Basel Sarham, 25, of Mississauga was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon at a later date.
